Welcome to Surrey Drum Teacher, the website for Matt Dean. A professional drummer and drum teacher in Beacon Hill, Surrey. With over twenty years of teaching experience, Matt has taught hundreds of students both privately and in local schools throughout the Surrey and Hampshire area.

He offers drum lessons from his high spec drum studio for drummers of all abilities and ages starting age 5 and going up to…….well who knows? It’s rude to ask grown ups their age!

The studio is used both for teaching and recording projects for artists around the world so the students get access to the same facilities that Matt uses to record tracks that appear on TV.

The studio itself is located in Beacon Hill, near Hindhead, Haslemere and Farnham.

You can see the studio in action at Matt’s online teaching website Total Drummer. If you want 1-2-1 drum lessons then you can come to the same studio and make use of these facilities and Matt’s wealth of drum teaching and performing experience. 

Every student is an individual so Matt is passionate about finding each student’s best way to learn and helping them achieve their best results. For some this means grade exams but for others it means rocking out to their favourite Green Day song. All the fundamentals can be taught within those projects so every student gains a full and rounded skill set to be a great drummer.

As long as the student is having fun they will stay inspired and keep learning.

Boring but Important
Matt’s qualifications include a 1st class BA (Hons) in music
He is DBS certified and has public liability insurance for his studio so all the legal stuff is covered.
