Drum Teacher offering Surrey drum lessons

surrey drum teacher, surrey drum lessons, Guildford drum lessons, Hampshire drum lessonsSurrey drum lessons are now available from Matt Dean who has relocated and developed a new teaching facility focused on offering the best drum teaching studio for his drum students.

The new studio is acoustically treated to ensure he internal sound is great and also so that sound doesn’t escape to annoy the neighbours!

But most importantly is the fact that inside the studio he can offer drum students acoustic and electronic drum kits to learn on. Not only that but there’s always an acoustic kit rigged up with microphones and ready to record at the press of the button. this means that students can get recording studio experience to learn the nuances and discipline required for that environment. Listening back to your playing is also one of the fastest ways to stop your weaknesses and improve. It’s also massive fun too!

There is also other various equipment such as keyboards and world percussion so it’s a great creative space to learn in. Matt’s passion lies with sharing his drumming experience with people who are keen to learn. He enjoys the challenge of teaching people with varied ability and ages because each student has different strengths, different weaknesses, different challenges and different ways of learning.

But they all share the same goal of moving on down the road on their journey to becoming the best drummer they can be.

He also likes the lessons to have freedom to be student led. Although he has a large tried and tested drum syllabus, it’s also great when a student brings something to the lesson whether that’s a desire to learn a Green Day song, a Samba rhythm, some jazz, a new technique, or anything else. Because using a topic that the student is passion about makes the learning so much more fun and that can be used as a vehicle to develop technique, theory, reading and all the other important aspects that are required to make a great drummer.

Boring but Important
Matt’s qualifications include a 1st class BA (Hons) in music
He is DBS certified and has public liability insurance for his studio so all the legal stuff is covered.

    Surrey Drum Teacher

    Drum Teaching facility in Surrey

Surrey Drum Teacher is the private drum lesson website for Matt Dean who is a professional performing drummer, author and drum teacher living in Surrey. He is also the creator of the online drum lesson website Total Drummer.

He teaches private drum lessons from his drum teaching studio which is located near to Hindhead, Haslemere, Guildford, Farnham, Aldershot, Godalming, Tongham, Farnborough, Camberley and surrounding areas. It’s on the border with Hampshire so many students are able to access the drum teaching facility from Hampshire as well.

He has been teaching since 1998 (that’s a really long time ago!) so he has just about got his act together and knows what he is doing. He has taught hundreds, maybe thousands, of students in a range of settings but his favourite is the 1-2-1 drum lesson at his studio where he can really focus on that individual’s needs and use his well equipped studio with all its resources to do that in the best and most fun way.

The drum teaching studio offers acoustic and electronic drum kits, as well as keyboards, world percussion and recording facilities so it is an excellent creative space in which to learn. An acoustic kit is constantly miked up and ready to record at the press of a button which allows students to get recording studio experience as well as analyse their recordings. This is one of the most effective ways to improve. It’s also massive fun!
